ʔukłaas n̓aas huuʕaqsa (my name is or means 'beginning of a new day', and this is my naniiqs- grandparent Wuuyaakiihtu which means "she's all that" given to her by her brother Ron Hamilton after she was in a car accident last year. I am so grateful to be starting this project with an amazing team because I could not have done this without out help and support. This language revitalization project is to make sure our youth can learn our Ka:'yu:'k't'h'/Che:k:tles7et'h' dialect which is a part of the Nuu-chah-nulth language and part of the Southern Wakashan Language family. I'm excited to see what we can create together and I look forward to working with everyone who is a part of this dream of collecting treasure that is near and dear to my heart, mind, and spirit.

My English name is Adam, and my Nuuchahnulth name is ƛiisƛiisaʔapt̓. I've known Tammy and Tess for a long time. It was the late Pat Nicolaye and Tess's late mother Hilda who gave me my Nuuchahnulth name.
Since it is relevant to what we are doing, I will mention that I am a white American and Canadian linguist.
